Sadako's Otosan Uchi
Under Otosan Uchi is an extensive network of secret tunnels. It’s said they connect the walls, the districts, even the Imperial palace.
I have searched for these tunnels myself, but never found them.
One night, I was returning late from a party, traveling through the Juramashi district, when I met a strange old man creeping through the shadows. When I spoke to him, he muttered, and WOULD NOT meet my eyes, but he told me to be careful, that there were shadowy figures on the streets tonight. I told him I knew the night’s dangers, that I was from Ryoko Owari, and asked if he, himself, felt safe.
I will NEVER forget his response. He looked straight at me for the first time in our talk, and leaned in close. He whispered, “I know the secret ways.”
Before I could ask another question, he scurried away into an alley and I lost him.
