During Emperor Genji’s reign, dozens of small Shintao temples were constructed near the castle, both inside and outside the Enchanted Walls. They included Shinden Eiesuku, the Temple of Eternal Redemption, which dedicated its efforts to saving the less fortunate of the city. The temple fell into disrepair three hundred years ago, and Makasu, the current Shinpu, struggles.
Shinden Eiesuku has been the crux of MANY scandalous rumors over the centuries, most stemming from its proximity to the Scorpion Embassy. The rumors span from the mundane (that the temple hosts an exotic black market within the city) to the fantastic (that it holds one of the black scrolls). Makasu vehemently denies ALL of the rumors.
