A wealthy residential district, one of the Toshisoto. It was once dominated by the Crane, but now has a larger Unicorn presence.

The Hayasu district is one of the most affluent residential sections of Otosan Uchi. It has a reputation as a home for the elite, and houses many wealthy merchants and artisans. A steep hill dominates the district center, upon which some of the most elaborate homes of the city rest. Residential districts include Sheltered Swords, Fortune’s Favored, and Wild Rice. Merchant districts include Chirping Crickets and the Shining Square.

While the Emperor’s Utaku were given homes within the Forbidden City, many of them eventually brought family to Otosan Uchi, and with those family came staff and supporters. The majority of these Unicorn settled in the Hayashu district at the same time that many Crane were withdrawing because of the rift between the Crane Champion and the Emperor.
This led to a change in the tenor of this district, cemented by the election of a Unicorn governor.
